1.What do you think? I choose this cooler rather than a tower as i would like a quiet easy to install cooler that also will support oc'ing. Is this cooler any good overall?

2.Am i going to need any psu to SATA power adapters or extra cables etc. or should all my needs be covered with what i have listed?

3. Will the case have any issues housing the 8800 GTS and all my components without fuss.

4. Is the memory the best bang for buck (did look at the OCZ memory but heard good things about crucial)?

Looks good, i brought a tuniq tower and that was a breeze to install really just stick the back plate on the mobo and 4 screws hold down the cooler.

I think cablewise you should be sorted

I dont have that case but ive read its got plenty of room

Heard good things about the memory but not sure if you need 1066Mhz

Well i'm itching to buy it but i'm not 100% sure what cooler to get. I want a quiet system that is capable of overclocking.

If anyone has anytihng to add or able to advise me let me know. I want to order this before 1pm today so i can get delivery tommorrow :D

The tower is quiet to be honest, on full blast i can hear it going but on about 50-60% i think my case fan makes more noise on its lowest setting

would have thought you might as well go with the 6400 memory, no real need for that memory with the q6600.

artic cooling pro 7 cooler uses the standard pop pins, although the likes of the tuniq are better for cooling.

case will be fine.

Well i have amended my order slightly so my graphics card is now the evga gts without crysis (£20 cheaper) i also got an extra set of the 2 gig crucial tracer as its only £65.

I'm still not sure what to do about the cooler though i would get a tuniq but i've heard people have had problems with fitting them secureley and ended up having to lapp them etc. I just cant be bothered to do this. If there is anything wrong with the cooler i selected then i'd of course switch it for a more appropriate one so i'm very interested to hear about alternatives that are quiet, easy to install and good for Oc'ing...

Not ruling the tower out yet but a few more opinions on coolers and the system as a whole i would really appreciate :)

Sorry was posting as you did so didnt see your comment on the memory. I will go take a look at the 6400 memory now then i guess :)

Gaming and work purposes. SOftware development and design etc.

I have switched the memory out for 4 gig of :-

Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz

I take it this memory due to the tighter ram timings etc would infact offer a greater boost to my system speed overall?I was under the immpression however the tracer were better ram overall for the future.. :)

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804) = £49.99

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AL1065) = £54.99

I know what ones i'd go for :)

Yeah just switched back ;-)

THe mem timings etc for the bang for buck = Tracers for the win :D

Looks lke the final decision to make is regarding the cooler then....

***** Edit *******

Im just a little concerned about hearing some people having varying degrees of success with the tuniq tower and having to keep reseating etc. What do you guys think?

i doubt you will need the 8500's too much with that processor unless you really push the overclock. I wish id gone for them now tho instead of the 6400's but ive got a E8400

hehe true :D

Did edit my previous post but two replies since so may get missed.

ANyohw i was just asking for opinions on the Tuniq tower as i have heard people have had to reseat it several times and still not got it working at the temperatures you would expect. Any opinions please?

Also does it come with a simple installation guide oris it really just a case of screwing it on tightly?

Or would i be better off sticking to the Akasa fan i picked to begin with?

It does come with a little booket but its pretty staight forward

i think the reseating is due to people worried about overtightening, but is has springs to prevent that

Ok thanks well i think i'll go with the tower then i guess and i'll order it now. :)

Guess i got to work out how best to apply the Arctic silver across 4 cores evenly now though lol! :D

for application of the artic silver visit their site, will tell you how they say it should be put on.

cooler wise if you're worried about the cooler go for the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro over the akasa, both are pop pin , but theres no way i'd pay the akasa price for one.

if you're wary of the tuniq, have a look at the Noctua NH-U12F CPU Cooler, same style of installation tho.

Thansk for all the help :)

I have ordered the kit now. Went for the tuniq in the end and 4 gig of the tracer memory.

I also switched my crysis edition of the gts to the non-crysis one and saved an extra £20 :D

Will have the full system with me ready to play tommorrow.

Now i got to decide what o/s to put on it. :)

Well im not sure wether to go for a 64 bit O/S or the 32 bit equivalent.

I guess i'll go 64 bit if its not gonig to cause any unforseen issues. :)
