Its my third or fourth personal build, but it will be the first one I'll have publicly posted on the forums. My last builds have always looked messy and been hogs for dust etc, I've spent a lot of time looking at what parts (case etc) that are best for cable management as I want this build to look clean and professional.

Well great component choices, it should look sweet if you put some decent time into the cable management. It's all about just planning the routes and being neat. It requires patience, but if you don't rebuild that often then you're set.

I'd be inclined to put the NZXT cable on anyway, as iirc those CM PSUs have similar cable style to the Corsair ones where the 24-pin ATX isn't braided to the end and it looks a bit, well, gash. The braiding isn't that dense either, so you can see through to the wires. The molex/sata cables are nicer though as they're just black, so can be pretty smart in a case with black internals like your new one.

Thats one of the few downsides to using product images on OCUK website, they never show the fullest of pictures about what you are buying. Thanks for the heads up on the use of the NZXT cable.

My wife was stood over my shoulder as I hit the purchase button, got a comment to the effect of "Can't believe you are spending that much on a PC!!"

My PC is my passion :D

Just an update - Spoke to OCUK and they have kindly split my order down for me as one of the parts still hasn't come into thier warehouse yet (windowed panel for the CM-690 II Advanced case). So if all goes well I will get the rest of the components tomorrow, thus starting my build tomorrow night!

Massive nightmare putting the computer together. Seems i might have a dead ram module so i'm going to have to rma. Altho not sure if i can get away with sending one stick back or if both need to go. Tried all the usual jazz with one stick etc. Seem to be having trouble getting the computer to boot with one stick and the other stick just plain won't let it boot. Spins up the fans then turns off. And cycles like that indefinitely. Time to go to bed tho. Will have a quick try again in the morning before work just to make sure it is the ram then take appropriate action.

Right, I've got pictures etc to post once I've got my cables etc tidied up. I've spoken to OCUK this morning and instead of doing an RMA and waiting for them to test the memory, I'm just buying some new memory and sending the old stuff back for a refund. That way I get to continue setting up my new rig with as little disruption as possible.

Glad you sorted out the memory problem, very good of OcUK to swap your memory over like that.:D
