My new Build, Please advise before I buy

I think this will slightly better then the earlier mentioned build because the c300 128gb has bad write speeds and the HAF X is newer and has more features.

The 950 will be just as good, for a fraction of the price!

Expensive does not always equal better! Yes, the 980x is an amazing CPU. But unless the OP is REALLY going to benefit from those two extra corse (and therefore the 2 extra threads) then it might be a good option.

But a 950 overclocked to 4GHz will be just as good! The i7s are excellent processors for actual number crunching.

While there aren't many programs that benefit from the extra cores of a 980, rendering in pretty much any 3d application is the one thing that will scale almost linearly, so they can be worth it it if you're limited for space/electrical requirements/software licences that run per cpu. Overclock the 980 to 4Ghz and it will render more stuff than any other single cpu.

However, for the price, I'd probably buy 2 i7 930 based machines, one as a workstation and one as a render slave, and upgrade them both to 6 cores down the road to prolong their lifespan.

sounds like you have made up your mind on the 980x, so i aint gonna argure on that one.
however, Now is a really bad time to blow 900 quid on a pair of 5970's. The hd6xxx series will be out in 6-8 weeks. Do you self a favour, get a single hd5850/gtx470/hd5870 now, and if you still want the best of the best, get a couple of 6970s (or whatever they'll be) in a couple of months time. You said you wanted futureproof. doing it this way is much more futureproof than your way.
