So this is my dream build in many ways and while some of the choices can't be logically explained, especially the monitor which is just a pure luxury buy, I'm delighted to finally have a chance to do my dream build after many years of having to prioritise funds for childcare, diapers, savings, etc, etc.

I can't wait for it to arrive now that I've ordered all of my parts, most ordered from OCUK because I love their site, responsiveness to queries and service requests and the way they engage with the community in the forums and other channels. I've never met any of them but they seem like friends :-)

The Beast will be used for Gaming, Movie making, programming and general entertainment and productivity. I'm a huge multi-tasker/multi-tabber and usually have a youtube video/ a movie / music playing on one monitor while working/gaming on another. (oh to add in addition to the ROG swift above, I also have 24" Samsung 1080p Monitor for viewing activity less worthy of the ROG)

Would love any feedback or tips from people who have similar builds or parts

Being a bit of MASSIVE hardware nerd myself (and speccing some massively insane and beautiful rigs) its quite sad (for me) that i find the most Interesting part of this build the monitor..

I really want to know how you fair with that display.. Let us all know how the 780ti copes with it (if you don't know its a 1440p montior @144hz G-Sync enabled). It will look stunning but i bet its pretty GPU hungry with all the bells and whistles. :)

Nice. Looks like a great build. Got my swift monitor yesterday and I'm really pleased with it. I only use a single 780 and it's completely fine with gsync

That's going to quite a rig, make sure and take photos!

I will of course take photo's, parts should start arriving from Wednesday onwards and have managed to take Thursday and Friday off to invest some TLC into my new machine (also, some family time...secondary).

Will be hard waiting for the ROG G-Sync monitor to arrive but I'm sure getting the beast set up in the mean time will keep me occupied. I understand that the 2nd batch of ROG Swift monitors is meant to hit the UK on August 15th so hopefully not too much time to wait until then!

I've been buying some of the parts over the last year or so (SSD, peripherals, GPU...) so it's taken a lot of waiting already...funny how the last few days seem the hardest

The monitor took the most agonising to be honest but in the end I figured out (justified) that the monitor is probably the part I will replace least often considering that my last monitors lasted 5 years plus. The next step to 4K seems like a long time away before both GPU and panels can really be effective and my SWIFT should give me a great experience in the mean time...

I also plan on getting a 2nd 780ti at some point as from what I've read about maxwell potential 880 (28nm Die size, 256k bus, etc) I think I'll skip this generation and 780ti cards seem to be nearly perfect (other than the VRAM) for my uses.

I'll let you know how I get on for sure with the monitor and get some pictures uploaded when I have the set up completed.

Also super interested in seeing how this display works, seems amazing. OP Might need another 780ti soon enough :p.

The Corsair Air 540 case is very good to work with and looks great.

Thank you - good to know it's got good feedback. I love the look of it and that it's still compact (for an ATX capable case) but high performance.

Any suggestions on the fan set up?

The front 2 140 fans should be on pull, as well as the top 2 120 fans on the i100 radiator to get cool air, but that only leaves the rear vent with the 140 fan to exhaust air. At least that's why most people seem to recommend but that seems a lot of air to pull in vs. exhaust? Look forward to your thoughts.

LOL ....way ahead of you buddy, bought the 1000w Gold evga power supply just in case a good deal comes along on another 780ti...nothing as annoying as having to replace a power supply when I could have just bought the right one to begin with...

so I did...a bit of an impulse purchase though as I had the 850w version sitting in my shopping basket for days...until 5 minutes before I checked out and paid for everything...changed to the 1000w version...

That's why my missus doesn't let me go grocery shopping any more ;-)

I have replaced all the fans that came with the case with AF140 Quite editions. The one's that come with the case are good, I just think the AF140 Quite editions look better. The temps and noise levels are about the same as the standard fans. I have two AF140's pulling air in on the front and one AF140 pushing air out the back. I also have a H105 radiator with two SP120 Performance fans pushing air out the top of the case. My temp seem good but I don’t overclock anything so?
