My new build Pictures

The new goodies arrived but had to wait a week before I could put it together.

Sods law there was a bent pint on the mobo

After gliding my finger over it managed to straighten it out.

The new monitor a dell S2409W, quite pleased with it, went froma 19 Iilyama to this.

The parts housed in a Coolermaster CM690. Its not as big as I thought it would be inside, no more room than my old sonata.

I do like the fact both panels come off, though hate the slide out. much better the way Antec did it ont he orginal Sonata

how much?

The heatsink was £35, its quite easy to fit but leave the fan until last.

All together with the monitor it came to just over £880. with a bit of shopping around

well im looking for a new fan,but i dont know if it will fit at minute i have artic freezer pro 7 ant minute.

my case is a antec 300
gtx 285 (as of 9/06/09)
p5q pro mobo

what ya reckon?

Whats the internal width?
On the CM90 it fits comfortably with about 2 - 3 inches space from the side panel.
The Antec W is 205 and the CM90 is 213, it should do it but might be a bit snug

I'll be building my own new system in about a month, and I'm looking at the P6T SE and Fenrir, but I will want to be able to occupy all the DIMM slots. Looking at your photos, it seems the fan on the Fenrir is blocking the nearest DIMM slot, is that the case? Or can the nearest DIMM slot have a DIMM in it with the Fenrir in place?

I think most tower coolers like the Fenrir, noctua and TRUE block the 1st ram slot on X58 boards.

@Stanman67 - A modular power supply works wonders in a 690.

That is some tidy cable management, are the SATA leadsa normal lenght. Also do you have other pics coz that outs my efforts to shame

I'ii be having a 2nd attempt when the replacement MOBO comes on Monday.
The first slot can be accessed but its a bugger, the fan covers it and makes life difficult.

The SATA cables are the ones that came with the board mate, so standard length.
I'll see if I can find any more pics I took.

Did you get the motherboard off of ebay or something? If it was brand new and came with bent pins - you shoulda sent it back, dude!

I've never opened up a brand new mobo that has had bent pins on it before...
