Hey guys,

I'm looking at building a new pc and was wondering what people think of this.

I need a hand for what memory and psu I should get though.

Gainward GeForce GTX 580 "GOOD Edition" 1536MB GDDR5

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155

OCZ Vertex 2E Bigfoot 120GB 3.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive

Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)

Coolermaster HAF X Gaming Tower Case - Black (RC-942)

Samsung SpinPoint F4 EcoGreen 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD204UI)

Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP 12x BluRay ROM DVDRW DL & RAM Lightscribe

Any suggestions?

Really depends how much you want to spend, do you want a modular PSU? I would say the Corsair HX850, it's plenty for you system and can handle a few upgrades. If you plan going SLI with the 580's it can also probably handle it, you can also get the TX950. Just stick to a good brand and a good series and you should be fine. For you system I think at peak load you will be looking at around 550-600W and with SLI 580s this will jump to around 750, so the 850 gives you plenty of room for this.

The memory, personally I would go for two sticks of 4GB, so a total of 8GB which would be enough, in terms of speed I would aim for 1333 - 2000 depending on budget.

That's a great spec so I'm sure you won't be disappointed. But... Have you forgotten a CPU heatsink?

I went for 8GB RipJawX in my new build simply because of the cracking price, I've not tried overclocking it yet but RAM speed has no impact on a SB overclock anyway since it's multiplier based clocking.

I use a corsair TX 750W so something similar would suit you. The HX 850W modular would be my choice if I was replacing it.

Not forgotten CPU cooler as I know which one I want just haven't put it in the build yet.

Is the Gfx card the best I'll get for performance versus price?

Not really, its just the fastest.

A 6950 flashed to a 6970 bios is bang for buck, with even a standard 6950 offering great performance, what resolution is the monitor you use?

A good PSU that will cope easily with SLI GTX580 setup is,

Or modular the HX850 mentioned above is very good indeed.

Memory, I presume from the specs that this is a gaming pc? so 4GB is ample, just get the cheapest 4GB 1600mhz kit on the site, lower memory timings found on more expensive kits make little difference to sandybridge performance.
