People have told me that its not really that powerfull, i would like to get a new PSU but i would like some advice on what one to get, it needs to be a atx psu also is there a difference between a normall atx and a atx 2.0 PSU? im not sure. im looking to get one from this site off course, if someone could help me have a look on there for one id be really greatfull, i have been mainly looking at the antec psu's on there site

cheers guys

Liam

What about the Hiper Type R 580w Modular?
Give you enough juice and it's modular. So tidy cables.

I've heard from a lot of people that it's good although some have said it gets a tad noisy.

Hipers have a habit of being fairly noisy and not sounding healthy from what I have heard.
Get a Enermax / Tagan / Seasonic and you can't go wrong :)

I really need an atx psu as thats what my motherboard supports, i was looking at the antec ones and is there a difference between a standerd atx psu and an atx 2.0 psu? i would like one around 600 watt to save getting myself another one in a year or so, any more ideas there guys?

cheers again

just had a quick look in the manuel it says i can have a 12v v1 not quite sure what it means though

I know for example my Enermax Liberty 620 full supports ATX.
All ATX2.2 really does is add extra cables. You don't have to use them :)

The only thing is im not sure what is compat with my motherboard, this is what i have ASUS P5S800-VM, if anyone could help me find out what kind of ATX PSU's the board supports id be greatfull

ATX2.2 will support anything earlier than that itself.

cheers mate so last of all what would you say is the best one for me to go for mate just want a honest opinion, i would like a nice 600watt psu

Yeh its a good psuk, plenty of people have got them.
Problem is its not modular, so you are going to have lots of cables to hide.

I would highly recomend the Enermax Liberty 620, it has modular cables, and matches the Seasonic in every respect.
In my rig I'm only using 3 of the cables, rather than a possible 8.
So the wiring is very clean in my rig. Its great to work with, every psu I have used before was not modular. It really makes a huge difference.

cheers mate i will go for that one looks good, one quick thing how does that cable tidy part work with it?

You get lots of seperate cables, at one of end is the part that you plug straight into the psu. and on the cables are all the molexes etc just like on any other psu.

oh right so i can just hide the cables im not using?
You don't even need to install all the cables - just the ones you need to use - so it makes for a very tidy setup.
