wrong size screws, simple really... find some that fit rather than butcher your case.

they are the supplied screws surely akasa wouldn't supply the wrong size screws with their amber series fans... !?

edit, sorry maybe i wasn't so clear, they fit through the mounting holes of the case fine but just not the actual fans.

Nah, iyou should be fine, all fans now are self tapping, ie they use self tapping screws which make the thread when you start screwing it in. If you look at the fans before, they will have no threads. Tbh I never understood why all fans were like this, but they are. I guess it might be in case people need to use different screws/mounting mechanisms for their case.
