Ordered So Far:

Thermaltake Shark ATX Case - Black
P5N32-E SLi nForce 680
Akasa AK FC-06BK Fan Controller

To Order:

Nvidia 8800GTX/GTS (depending on Funds ;))
E6600 Core 2 Duo
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler
2x 250GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives
Enermax Galaxy 850W
2GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS DDR2 C4
Cables...

Change the cooler to Noctua NH-U12F ;) What speed RAM is that you are ordering? If its PC6400 then go for GeIL or OCZ and you can clock the... out of your CPU and memory on that board. As the above poster says, downgrade the PSU would be advisable, I would recommend around 550-600W for stability and overclocking potential.

kool thanks guys. Really appreciate your responses as i am not upto date with Pc's... last one i built was a 64 bit AMD 4000+ with a 7600GT ... still quite new... but im not upto date with these new Core 2 Duos :)

They clock really nicely its suprising how easy it really is. I think most of the AMD boys have had to move to Intel with these core 2 duo's hitting the market cause even at stock they outperform the AMD X2's. You will enjoy that rig when its setup :)

Cool... But im not a MAD overclocker... infact i have never overclocked anything really lol... ive read that Ballistix RAM is good for overclocking... i dunno lol... Help me out! :D please :D

Im not a mad overclocker either, but I found it very easy to overclock, especially with all the help you get on here.

As much as I like the Geil, it was great RAM and never gave me much problems, but it reports the wrong SPD and the timings etc end up wrong in the BIOS. My Geil Ultra 800mhz always set itself to 667mhz automatically. I had to change this in the BIOS.

The OCZ or GSkil will probably be better for around the same price on OC'ers.

That Geil RAM is good for overclocking, I don't know how much better the Ballistix is or whether is worth the extra cost but most will tell you how excellent the Geil stuff is. Right now the Corsair PSUs are the best on the market for the price, and the 520W edition would be perfect for your system.

The Noctua NH-U12F is just as good as the Tuniq Tower - if not better and it is also quieter, and if you are considering overclocking then it might be wise to save some money and get an E6300 instead as it overclocks pretty much the same as the E6600 but has a lower multiplier.

Having to adjust timings and SPD ratings on the GeIL isn't really a factor when you are considering buying it. You have to adjust other RAM that you put in there at stock, if anything it gives you a bit of a starter with customising settings in BIOS. I would recommend the GeIL or OCZ RAM as I have the GeIL myself and I have friends who have the OCZ and both perform well at stock and are good overclockers when combined with the right boards :)

Also, i am looking to get Windows Vista with this new pc.... Shall i go for 64-bit Home premium? :) thanks

I'm not going to say you should definetly get Vista over XP or vice versa, but I can say that I've got Vista 64-bit Ultimate and it is a very good OS. I've not had any problems with it, and works a treat
