Hi guys :)

Looking to make myself a new mid-ish range gaming rig in the next few months to replace my laptop and wanted feedback on what I have chosen so far. This is purely for playing games like Skyrim, BF3 and Guild Wars 2, along with the usual stuff like youtube. My original budget was about £600 but realised I won't get Ultra settings realistically for under ~£750-850 so I can push it up a little. Anyway, here is my current planned setup:

Mobo, Processor, heatsink and RAM (8GB upgrade) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-080-OE

GFX (Debating upgrading to the 560Ti, but doubtfull I'll benefit much from it. MAY go SLI with two of these in the future)

PSU (Thing I'm most looking for feedback on, as my knowledge on these is low, thinking I should push the boat for a corsair, such as a CX500, although I'd prefer a modular PSU)

Case

HDD - Will maybe get a SSD in the future

Monitor

This comes to about £825, so meets the top end of my budget. I also already have a DVD/RW drive and a copy of windows so those aren't required.

Thoughts? thanks :)

you can buy this for the same price (until the end of tomorrow though)

i'd rather power my rig with that one instead of the ocuk one.

review of it here

Difference doesn't seem that great. Would the 560Ti work well in a SLI setup with the plain 560? I may upgrade to the ti if budget allows, but stick a plain 560 in at a later date.

Thanks for the recommendation, I won't be buying anything until 1-2 months time as I need my money for holiday, but bookmarked as I think I'd rather spend a few extra quid for a branded PSU.

+1 for the Coolermaster Silent Pro 500W - it's a good PSU. The OCUK battle PSU on the other hand is not nearly as good quality.

Also, as Idleman says, the £132 ASUS graphics card is the GTX 560 not the GTX 560Ti - which is a different more powerful and more expensive card (the GTX 560Ti has 384 steam processors, while the GTX 560 only has 336). At this price range the best card to go for at the moment seems to be this HD 6950 2GB.

The Zalman is a nice case and the 2TB Seagate looks like a good HDD if you need a lot of storage (though I would suggest you also add in a small SSD as a boot drive).
