My new Geil 2gig of RAM is only running at ust over 500Mhz?

I just installed the Geil 2GB 800Mhz DDR2 RAM into my pc, it all seems well, except that when I boot up, the RAM is something like 515, or 525Mhz.

How do I change this? I looked in BIOS and couldn't see anything as straight forward as Mhz adjustment..

what is your motherboard? that might help us

RAM speed is worked out by FSB x RAM divider, whereas the CPU freq is the FSB x the CPU multiplier.

Therefore to change ram speed you can either change the FSB, or change the divider.

Apparently my motherboard is "Eveshamvale MS-7058" according to tuneup utilities 2007. It has an MSI stamp on it also.
