So I finally took the plunge and bought a new media setup. I bought a Samsung UE46F6670 tv last week and already owned a Sony BDPS480B.CEK 3D Blu-Ray player. Yesterday I visited Richer Sounds and ending up buying the audio. I did some prior research on what I was looking for but being new to this it was limited. I had a budget of ~£1500 so this came in just short so I'm happy. This should arrive on Tuesday.

So what do you think?

Q ACOUSTICS2000i 5.1 Pack speaker

SONY STRDN1040 AV receiver

SOUNDSTYLE Z2 speaker stands

CAMBRIDGE AUDIOAUD500 7.5M cable

SANUS Element 2M HDMI cable

CAMBRIDGE AUDIO ULTRA MICRO cable

Nice, not to be funny but why £30 on a 2m HDMI cable ?, you do know digital is digital ?, it either works or doesn't... by spending £30 you are not getting a higher grade of digital :)

You should not of paiud of £3.50

+1

although i do tend to stay away from ebay for hdmi as the really cheap ones are prone to stop working if you bend them, etc.

i buy some german made ones off amazon for £2 to £5 and they are brilliant, never had one fail over time unlike the cheap £1 ones i used to buy.

also there is no difference in PQ between a £1 cable and a £500 one, so i buy the german ones to ensure that they keep on working over time, nothing to do with PQ.

with hdmi it either works or it doesn't there is no such thing as poor signal quality when using hdmi.

I was aware it wasn't the cheapest cable I could have bought but didn't want to buy too cheap as I was spending best part of £1500.

I will add some pics tomorrow once it has been delivered.

Sorry about the bad images, work insist on us having iPhones :(
