My New Honda SP1

Looks good mate :) What engine is in that then?

They are a 996cc V-Twin.
Stonking bike, designed purely to beat ducati in WSB.
Very nice indeedy.
Would love and SP1 or 2 at some point. maybe in a couple of years.

Yeah it goes well. It's my first V-Twin, I've had IL4's, V4's and 2t's before but the twin has a very different riding style. I'm always finding myself popping off the limiter, the engine sound just doesnt seem to change at high revs like IL4's.

Beautiful bike, the sound from that engine is sublime. Doesn't quite match the Ducati though :p
Didn't they do a Joey Dunlop special edition of the SP1?

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy it :)

The pictures are stunning, a sound clip would be just so much better, they sound the absolute dogs! :D Nice one!!

Lovely bikes..A guy i used to work with had one and the noise it made when he opened her up was gorgeous.. :)

Heres a small clip I got: http://media.putfile.com/SP1-startup-and-flyby

The eagle eyed ones will notice that I dont actually have a number plate :) this is because I tried to be a good boy and put the standard one on only to find it had blown off on the way there!! Had to limp home all slow and quietly. Got the badboy stripe one on now but will be changed for a very slightly smaller than standard one.

Been out today on it, happy with the handling atm and very surpised by the fuel tank! filled it up yesterday and rode a fair few miles (although didnt reset the milage counter) and done 20miles today, went to fill up expecting a whole tank but only needed £8.50! at about 98p a litre. Standard ones apparently struggled to reach 100miles per tank due to poor fueling but this is increased by the PC3, so it's looking good. anywhere above 110miles before reserve is fine in my books, hell my old GSXR750 sometimes went into reserve with 85-90miles and that had a 22litre tank!! :o

Lovely bit of kit m8.

Guy we go out for runs has an SP-2, had a few goes on it and I have to say I prefer my Mille, but I'm biased that way......LOL!!!.

Stu's SP-2, my RSV behind it:-

Oooh I do love SP's - I think the SP2 is probably a little higher in my list, but nonetheless the SP1 is still absolutely lovely. The sound is just willy twitching.

Awesome purchase.
