My New i7 Build Thread :)

with all that money spent on it i would have got an 64/128GB SSD and put OS and all program files (64gb) and games (128gb) onto that

SSDs are very fast on reads (response times below 1ms) you never want to use an HDD agane for an system drive agane :)

yea i would have loved to of! cant afford it with everything else.

In time tho i will get a few of them i think!

just get one that fits your needs
RAID is so overrated on SSD as the access speeds are so low requests are completed very fast no HDD can match it (apart from Size), only need raid on SSD if more Data rate is needed (video editing)or for JMircon ssds

price of the SSDs above 128gb are bit high (ok very high) but little cheaper then buying 2 SSDs, as to why i got the corsair S128 its not so fast on data rate but it has space and is fast on responce time, i just did an 65GB windows 7 backup from S128 to an HDD in 10 mins (85MB/s @ an Que length of 16), i guess on the newer SSDs it been 5 mins but i think my HDD would have been the limiting factor then (the backup did not require an reboot to do it as well)

Yo guys, I am Typing this on my New PC!!

Here are some Photos of the Build, Sorry for the Quality. I did forget to take more photos near the end! The Case is Huge! Love it :)

Cheers for all the help along the way! i will be back pestering you about overclocking im sure! ha

I really like that case... It looks like it has loads of room behind the mobo tray for routing all your cables to keep things tidy inside...

My case isn't really good at all for keeping my cables tidy.. It is a real pain to build in..

::edit::

Oh how I wish my mobo tray had a hole in it where the CPU lines up on the mobo, that would save a whole lot of time when it comes to installing a new HSF!!!

No need to remove the board to fit a backplate!!!

I gotta say that feature would be so useful - these days any halfway decent aftermarket cooler weighs so much that they need the backplate, and being able to change it without removing the whole mobo could be a real time saver!

no graphics card?
nice build!

yea i have ATI 4850 1Gb in it atm, forgot to take pic with it in!

Yea the mobo tray made it a lot easier!

does anyone know of a CPU and GPU Temperature monitor that sits on your Desktop?

ive had a look around and cant see a decent one.

Cheers.

Nice, but hope that (beautiful) case is not inconspicuous under the table.

I'd run some benchmarks @ stock just to ensure everything is running well
