Hi Everybody.

Comments please on my possible new PC. It's about the best I can afford right now, but I would love some feedback and thoughts from anyone out there that knows more than I do, which won't be hard, LOL!!!. It's still in the thought process, so I can still change things, providing they don't cost a fortune that is, LOL!!!.

Well here goes.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper TX3

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Motherboard: Asus M4A89GTD Pro USB3

Hard Drive 1: 500Gb S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s

Hard Drive 2: ITB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s

Memory: 8.0GB Corsair DDR3 1600mhz XMS3 (4x2GB)

Optical Drive 1: LiteOn IHBS112-37 12x Blu-ray BDRW Black

Optical Drive 2: Liteon IHAS324-32 24x Internal DVDRW Black

Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 Eyefinity CrossFireX 1GB
GDDR5/PCI-E 2.1 / 2XDVI

Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi
XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series

Case: Zalman Z9 Plus

Case Cooling: 6 x Acousti AcoustiFan: DustPROOF 120mm fan

PSU: 650W Corsair TX Ultra-Quiet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am no serious gamer but I would like to think I could play some of the lower end games. Am I right in thinking that I can (when I can afford it that is) buy another of the same Graphics Card and have them in CrossFireX mode, using a bridge cable?. What do you think?. All comments are welcome good or bad. Or advice even if you think I got something wrong and you recommend something better or different, just be aware of the cost, please.

I will give a few bits of info out,

A 5830 is £79 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=gx-168-xf&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1711

and a i5 2300 is massively faster - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i5-2500-2400-2300_7.html#sect0

So these two should be in your basket,

CPU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-363-IN
Board - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-172-MS

And adding 6 fans is silly, you could get a much better case for the cots of the fans and the Z9, but the Z9 doesnt need any extra fans as it is.

consider SSD and maybe a saphire 5850 extreme

better coolers
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3/775/1155/1156/1366)
Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366)

I think the OP needs to specify a budget.

Stuild has spec'd a motherboard and CPU for £200 and the OP is talking about £307.

The OP is also talking about using Crossfire in the future.

Absolutely keep the Z9 case.

Those two items are better still,

You will want a heatsink for the OEM CPU or get a Reatil CPU that comes with a stock Intel cooler.

This motherboard is currently cheaper - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=mb-458-as&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

if its not that cheap when you buy it, then this is better - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=mb-051-ak&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

a z68 round-up - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews...s-p8z68-v-pro-gigabyte-z68x-ud3h-b3,2939.html

Hi Stulid.

Think i'll stick with this one.

Board - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-457-AS

Suits my needs, i think.

and keep the Zalman Z9 Plus case but with the stock fans as supplied.

I also like your suggestion for the

CPU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-363-IN

So thats the Case, Fans, Motherboard, CPU, Operating System, Harddrives, Optical Drives, etc.

Now i need to sort out the Graphics Card and the CPU Cooler.

Also need to check that the Corsair PSU is ok, also the Corsair RAM.

I need to check if it's still the same type of RAM for this different setup.

Has to Surveyors remarks, i have an absolute max of £850 to spend.

Has to Crossfire, it's just something i'd like to be able to consider in the future, so
i need to try and have a setup that will let me do it in the future, (When i have saved some more pennies) rather than have to change anything other than the Graphics Card.

To make the most of that board try and get a "K" cpu so you can overclock

Memory, what ever is the cheapest 4GB kit without the silly tall heatsinks that can get in the way of the CPU heatsink - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-095-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

PSU is great.
