I've recently just ordered a whole new PC, and I was looking to get some feedback and any suggestions. Is it or is it not a good build etc.

CPU- AMD FX 8350 8 Core
GFX Card- Sapphire R9 270x
Motherboard- MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 ATX Motherboard
PSU- 750w ACE
RAM- Hyper X FURY 8GB (x2 4GB)
SSD- Kingston Technology 120GB Solid State Drive
HDD- Toshiba 500GB
OS- Windows 8.1

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

I would have gone with a slightly better motherboard which has cooling on the MOSFETS around the cpu as the 8350 pulled some power these will get hot and can course the cpu to throttle.

Edit: That power supply!!! Only thing that's good for is the dump.

You did it the wrong way round. You join and ask for advice before buying ;)

Welcome to the forums

Motherboard is a bit iffy and can overheat with 125w CPUs such as yours. You've overspent a little on the CPU too - an 8320 is better value.

Power supply is an utter travesty - please buy a decent one before it destroys itself and your other components with it.

The rest looks ok to me.

Yeah normally someone joins asking for advice before they build the system. You really shouldn't of government with that PSU though I would be careful running that.

I had to sacrifice for the SSD, even though I KNOW you should never go cheap on a PSU. Motherboard on a budget also but I've never had an expensive motherboard and I've never had problems with them. When Christmas is out the way I'll buy a better PSU.

What problems could occur with that motherboard?

£115 the graphics card was from competitor, now gone back up to £130. After your replies I have now changed my motherboard and PSU ha. I've had some parts delivered today and the HDD I've bought is clearly one for a console or laptop as it's 2.5 inch 500gb HDD 5200RPM. My main drive is going to be my 120GB SSD, so will this hard drive be a problem? It'll only be used to store old games, images, music and videos etc..

*Don't see anything wrong with using it for images , music, movies. Old games being gaming you'll rarely play, also not very demanding?

*(Unless of course you can't install it)
