Well, ive noticed recently that due to my own bloody lazyness my teeth are now a mess, really annoying me, and they are starting to push each other around. So i got onto the local dentist and told them my issue, but they arnt accepting people any more so i cant get reregistered..

So they gave me a num of an Emergency dentist who then told me that because its not swollen or bruised or an injury related issue they also cant help me.. So they passed me onto the NHD Direct.

Who then told me that out of 20 within 5 miles and 60 odd within 15 all are full, they wont let me go further then that due to my postcode, infact they wont let me go further than 5 miles.

So really no one can help me, she said theres a political dispute in my area about this issues which to be honest i dont care about, i want my teeth sorting, their hurting.. I also pay my Nat ins weekly... Pfft... Some good that does.

Maybe its my own fault, i havnt taken care, ill stand up and say that, not wearing a gum shield in rugby has done it, my own fault.

This isnt a medical thread, its a random rant, but any help would be great to read..

What an annoying day.

James.

Do they though? They just claim they are full, what do i do then?

My last dentist claim to have striked me off their list coz i havnt seen them in 4 years, 2 due to living in Devon.. And 2 due to me being young and not caring..

Omg... seriously... I rung, told her my situation and she said 'You should have thought about this sooner then shouldnt you... okay then cya.' and huny up!

Is this how we all get treat?

What a bloody country we live in.

Surely that's the emergency dentist only.

Nope. We are All entitled Dental health care.
Yes they do say it's full & try to blag you. Just ring the NHS back & tell them. In the end they ring them for you & Demand that you are taken on.
I speak through experience ;)
I pulled a few of my own out recently just to avoid the BS. When i told my Doctor he was like WTF & told me the above.

I didnt go for 5 years. When I asked for an appointment I had to wait 6 months. Luckily they hadnt taken me off their books as then you are in trouble.

There should be an emergency dentist that operates on a certain day in your area. i had to go there to get a temp job done until I got to see my normal dentist.

The dentist situation in the UK is terrible.

Lol..

Rung another dentist in Shipley, they have 2 appointments in the morning and one on monday, which both clash with a new job i start tomorrow and these are both emergency appointments or i have to wait until early next year... I want to be 8 again when everything was much simpler..

Do you really want to take the advice of someone who pulled their own teeth out?

:D (if only there was a "im missing a few" smiley!)

Weve been trying to get a local dentist for years......as it is we travel 200miles to our old dentist in devon... not exactly convienient, but a good excuse to visit family friends.

I find NHS dentists are so scared of losing their practice that they will perform unnessicary procedures just to make their books look full.

Thats just me tho and a bad experience with an evil dentist near me.
