Hey all

My friend might be selling his tower case, which i have taken a liking to :)

I want it to be my new project, and he's asked £20 for it.

Pics here www.whag.org.uk/server

I'm probably gonna give it a new paint job, and tidy it all up...

Thats if he sells it

What you all think? :)

You could try and fit 2 120mm delta fans in the front to blow anything behind the case away :p

P.S I used to have that monitor in those pics too :p

I think £20 is way too much for that case IMO, try and get him down to more like £10.

Mark

I dont reckon it is :) Considering the size of the beast.. £20 is a reasonable price for what it will be performing like in the future

50p :p

/ I would not buy it, and have not ever seen one for sale, so it is worth what you are willing to pay, cases from that time (2000? judging by the styling and yellowness) usually are not up to modern rigs, but should have a lot of potential, and as long as you only spend £50 total on making it 2006 ready, should be a good buy.

Thats what i hopefully plan to do...

I'm just unsure what the space is for above the PSU? Also, do you reckon its got fan mounts in the front already?

No idea :p

The space above the PSU. Hmm. could support a different back plate to allow Dual PSU or PSU + Fan configurations like in the old Chieftec cases.

My nanna ahs one of those cases for her PC ( yes its THAT old lol ) ive been tempted many a time to take it and vamop it up, but she just doesnt want to part with her favourite tea coaster lol

im embarrases to say ive got one of those compaq monitors on my desk here too :( lol

what you thinging about doiugn to it paint wise ?
Rick

I have a idea, how about spray it black, and cover the sides with stick on carbon fibre styled vinyl?

As in the tech project thread, would look sweet on a case of that age.

what like cover the thing in faux carbon fibre, or like mayby cut out a 'decal', logo or somehtign in it and stick it on?
you will have to make sure its as smooth as glass if u r putting vinyl one mind !
use soapy water too ;)
