Hello this is my first post. I just replaced my ageing Pentium4 with a new rig, since it maxed out at 2GB RAM. Would like advice from you guys.

AMD Athlon X2 6000+
XFX MI-A78S-8209
8GB GEIL DDR2 PC6400
1GB GeForce 9600GT
Windows Vista 64 Ultimate
2X1TB Samsung HD103UJ
Dual 19" ACER AL1916W (desktop resolution 2880x900)

I am a programmer (C++), web designer and do a lot of work with Virtual Machines, so large amounts of RAM is very important to me, hence the 8GB RAM.

Windows Experience Index is 5.2
9193 3Dmarks (06)

Basically what I'm asking is, do you think I should have gone with 1066MHz RAM rather than the PC6400 which I believe is 800MHz?
Vista scores my memory operations at the maximum 5.9, so why make memory faster? I am confused. Also, my CPU only scores 5.2, which brings my WEI score down.

Enabling Cool'n'Quiet in the BIOS causes BSoD with 'A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the alotted time interval' - I have searched the AMD forums and this is a known issue. CNQ disabled and my system runs stable.
