iv just orderd sum new parts for a pc upgrade i just wanted a opinion on me spec.

Asus m2n sli deluxe
inno3d 8800gt
corsiar 2gb ram
arctic cooler heatsink
western digital 500gb sata hard drive
creative t7900 7.1 speakers

i have a good psu quetec 550w which is 20 pin but got a 24 pin converter as the mobo has 24 pin connecter.

why post after ordering? surely it makes more sence to post before, so that you can get advice?

also welcome to the forums.

p.s. such advice may include telling you about the firmware problem with that HDD.

It might help to know what cpu & os you're running and which Corsair memory you ordered ? Otherwise there's not much to say. I'm running this motherboard and have no problem with it.

I'd replace that PSU if I were you, they have a nasty habit of going bang suddenly & taking your nice new PC components with it (been there done that)

£40+ should get you a decent PSU (corsair/seasonic/enermax/antec) etc.

lol sorry i was in a rush. cpu amd athlon 64 6000, os win xp pro 64. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-092-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813 thats the ram i got. firmware problems hmm thats the first i heard about it well if it dont work ill just sell it off cuz iv got a spare seagate 500gb sata

As you have xp pro 64 I'd probably put 4Gb ram in it given how cheap it is atm.
Should clock to 3.2 - 3.4 GHz, there's not a lot of headroom on these cpus.

well iv got everything installed got a niggling problem :( when trying to install win xp 64 it loads all setup files when trying to select the drive i want to install the os on it just shuts down. iv tried it like 10 times that cnt b psu can it *** this b mem problem or overheatic? im using artic cooler psu am2 dual fan.
