I MUST OINT OUT TIS CONCEPT HAS NEVER EVER BEEN DONE ON A TRIALS FRAME BEFORE.

We also built the frame!!! Was water cut form 8mm thick H30 aluminum. I made the carbon fiber from some twill weave 200gsm i had left over from a project. This week she'll get media blastings and final asseberly.

Took 4 hours to build a frame!!! Scary the nor is a week!

My sponsers for this years season 06/07 are so far

Fresh Products, LB Productions, EBC, Hope, Chris King, Get Noticed Productions, XS Stimulant Drink, Tartybikes, Wright Pads/Rim Jam

I've passed my medical, my back healed thanks to Si and Rachel my physios.

Just placed the orderds for all my kit, which has costed me nowt bar a phone call. It could be here at any time.

I've two weeks to get going on her and get use to it then i start a small UK tour, Wesctott fancy a beer if your free as i'll be up in Scotland! Then i'm off to Paris to ride with some mates and my old team and get some massive action in before the worlds hopefully in January.

The frame is a proto, Mk1. Shes more a Mk1/Mk2 as we did some massive mods to her soon as it came from the water cutters! Were calling her Mk1 no matter what thouhg. Lots on Mk2 to be chnaged weight wise, aming for 2/3LBS!

Hope you like

That looks awesome, really unusual and there should still be decent potential for weight loss as you say but I bet the shiny finish doesn't stay long. Good luck for the upcoming season :)

It's not finshed in them pics. The polished sections are were the vinyle stickers go as they are there to protect that section when it gets shotblasted. It'll be like a dull gray kinda thing but with the company name, and frame model and my name highly polished! Pimp

Not a biker myself but it looks pretty interesting, what are the pros/cons compared to a more conventional frame? Weight? Cost? Strength? Rigidity? I guess if you stack it you'll just be able to replace a section rather than writing off an entire frame.

Yeah there are 4 replaceable sections, 2 front and 2 rear

It's stiffer than anyhting out there!

No one made this as of yet bar us, we now own the rights!!!

Weight on Mk1 is bad but we modded her to drop it which is leading us to the final set for Mk2 which is going to happen at Crimbo.

The geo is new, only one other frame and it feel like a mod bike (20'' wheels small thing) but is 26''.

+40mm rear disc mount so you use a 160mm claiper and a 200mm disc,

Magura mount are stainless steal so they wont thread and strip as other do

Non std 115mm wide BB shell and 148mm isis bb axle!

It's long so helps to gap, my last bike was 1095mm WB and i could gap static 10ft and rolling gap about 14/15 ft, longer more leavrge but it has to be logner as the BB is + 80mm so the cokcpit will be too small otherwise.

FEM showed no weakness in here at all. There rear is stiff as 18'' thick steal!

I've kinda rode it it the work shop with a few proto parts on there.

It'll be fine. Cardbord models help in protos

Alumium tubing thats solid in the center that i wraped within the carbon fiber and then stainless steal bolts go all the way to the solid section form both sides.

The CF take 1.5 tons multi direction

It went in a press with bolts fitted in as if on the bike and took over 2.5 tone

It works, i'll be doing my normal 12ft droppson her so i don;t think i put out that much force.

Scott i'll get the 1st you get me the latter.

I just had my Chris King stuff arrive and my Hope! King Ti headset anyone?

£230 off Bromly bike

Oh Chris King Hubs only. I helped with the devlopment of the Pro II's from Hope but i've used Chris King all my life for trials...it works!

Hoe Mono Trials customed color and with heaveryly modified leavers (not using the std mini leaver)

The Mono trial is very on and off, but these new leavers give a feeling like maguras which is best so i can adjust the bite, reach, feel. Also my discs are being modified with some sut outs.

The frame run both disc or magura on the rear and i use a disc only now up fornt.

The spikes are small and chamfered, they are really nice to rest on oddly

Really, you helped develope the Pro II hubs? Can you tell me of the general advantages over the bulbs then? Or are th CKs that much better?

EBC is owned by my dad and my godfather!

Hope is own by two guys Called Alan and Ian, both are my Uncels

I got asked to get involved after heping with a disc for trials.

The paws used in the Pro II trials (6spd) are leaf paws and sprigs, there much bigger, more presure too.

A Chris King is ring drive, 72 EP as the Pro II is 48 EP. To make a copy of a king is not easy oddly, it's been tried.

XC is 21 EP

Bulb is 24 EP

Pro II (6 & 9 SPD) is 48 EP

Chris King is 72 EP

The more EP's the weaker the hub is but CK is not a paw and rachet system like Hope and 48 EP is perfect, a 24T rachet and 4 paws, there really deep and wide due tothe leaf styled paws and springs.

I've been running there new disc brake which you ll know as the Freeride minging yellow thing.

The leaver is now in production and will be used on the Mono Trials and i think also on the other systems as well as the new full brake system, the vented floating disc, post mount everything.

Just had my Magura stuff come, Hs33's 5 rear sets (i use disc only front) and Dale @ The Slio which is the Middleburn outlet has just sent me cranksets, 16T ti bash ring and std 22t bash ring but i'll run a 20T hardcoat ring.

Oh my Ratios i run are 16:14 and 20:17

16 for UCI and then 20 BIU

Cool, my brother in law rides with them and seems to have a great time. He used to work in the shop too.

I'll ask him about your frame next time I see him, hope it goes well

Rides with Who? Out that list i doubt anyone has sponsership with a few of them names as there are 2 local ones to me, 1 in the USA but now in the UK, FP are an up and coming comapny.

What shop?

Wow, must be a nice steady supply of parts if your uncles own Hope. Can I get a bit of advice from you then. I use a Shimano XT rear hub at the minute for general mucking around, light freeride. I hate the engagement on the hubs. Are the trials pro II ok for this, or am I better off with a Chris King. Or alternatively, something by Sun or DT.

Umm depends really. I only order what i want when i need and if needs be go help out for a few days, or pay for it as to taking freebes.

If your freeridding and your having problems with an Shimano XT i'd say Hope. Pro II std hub, no need for the trials unless your rididng trials. Plus the trials is single speed or 6spd only.

If you did want chris king i'd say you'd have to do the following but aint cheaop

Iso hub
Stainless steel drive shell
HD axle
Fun bolts

Thats alone i'd say your look near £400+

My singles speed and King Kig is £400 dead on!

SUn and DT i've killed, i've torn out the star flange of the DT which are really pretty, and the SUN we duno what i did but you can pedal all you like and does nothing. It went back on warranty and i got my money back, that was on my V10P the sun, heheh.

I went training yesterday with a mate on my old steed. I was beating my personals bests by 1'' wich means my training in the gym and diet has helped as well a bit of rest. Was even rididng natrual which i hate yesterday all day. was ging to ride today but it's wetter than an outter on heat out there
