My New Toy!!!!!

I only want to know one thing, if u crank it up does the warning on the back become relevant?!
That's a perk, if you get hungry while playing you can put a steak on the backplate and grill it while gaming :D

Very nice card and the card I would get if I was thinking about a new card.

Why run afterburner after running a benchmark, try leaving it running during the benchmark so we can see what temps you hit.

If you want fast and you want nvidia than this is the card to get. I don't see why he should have any regrets. There aren't any imminent nvidia releases on the horizon.

Depends on the user. I use a 5970 and at full load (gaming, fps's) it's quite loud, the noisiest component in my 700D anyway.

I should have been more specific as i meant the single gpu cards. The cooler on the 5970 has to cool 2 gpu's so has to work much harder but still does a good job on noise when comparing to a stock gtx480 and previous dual gpu cards.

Just want to add, what a fantastic card this looks like, you must be chuffed to bits. Brilliant temps on the previous page I noticed

congrats,
J.

Seems the ati stock cooler on the 5870 is still quiter than the kfa2 gtx480 when at factory settings. Link below. Some people really need to get there facts straight before they post. Its a well known fact that the 5 series cooler from ati never produced much noise and its probably a good bet the same kind of cooling will be used on the 6 series.

Enjoy your card op it looks a beast and should perform like one. Whatever the 6 series brings the gtx480 will still be a very good performer.

That's because the default bios settings for controlling the fan on the 5 series is absolute crap. Look at those benchmarks. Why do you think the 5 series cards are a good 30 degrees hotter than the gtx480? It's because their fan is running sloooooow, and it doesn't speed up even when the cards hit 90c. If you set a sensible profile with afterburner, ATI coolers always get noisy when the system is on full load.
