ok so ive been talking about doing it for ages .......well i finally managed to get the funds together and buy the bits i wanted.
oem intel q6600 cpu, asus p5q intel p45 motherboard, geil 2x2Gbpc2-6400cs black dragon DDR2.
i left it priming over night and after sitting up for the first 4 hours or so , i come down in the moring to find it has rebooted...and the prime logs say it stopped after 5 hours 7 minutes.
now i notice that i have vdroop from 1.456v (idle) down to 1.392v (load) and reading up in the motherboard manual the load-line calibration will compensate for this, so hopefully it will be ok priming tonight. i may even be able to lower the voltage a touch for the currant 3.6 GHz clock.
it will boot into windows at 3.8 GHz but it wont prime for more than a few mins without more tweaking.
and it posts at 4Ghz but it wont load windows
obviously theres loads of room for more tweaking including more voltage but i would like to get it 8hrs prime stable at 3.6 GHz first.
