ok so ive been talking about doing it for ages .......well i finally managed to get the funds together and buy the bits i wanted. :D

oem intel q6600 cpu, asus p5q intel p45 motherboard, geil 2x2Gbpc2-6400cs black dragon DDR2.

overclock3.jpg

i left it priming over night and after sitting up for the first 4 hours or so , i come down in the moring to find it has rebooted...and the prime logs say it stopped after 5 hours 7 minutes.
now i notice that i have vdroop from 1.456v (idle) down to 1.392v (load) and reading up in the motherboard manual the load-line calibration will compensate for this, so hopefully it will be ok priming tonight. i may even be able to lower the voltage a touch for the currant 3.6 GHz clock.

it will boot into windows at 3.8 GHz but it wont prime for more than a few mins without more tweaking. :)

and it posts at 4Ghz but it wont load windows

obviously theres loads of room for more tweaking including more voltage but i would like to get it 8hrs prime stable at 3.6 GHz first.

ok so the above clock was with *** load line calibration set on auto, and i can only assume that means dissabled, because with it enabled the voltages changed.

load line calibration on auto

bios........idle.......load
1.500---1.456---1.392

load line calibration on enabled
bios........idle.......load
1.500---1.480---1.504
1.425---1.408---1.424
1.40625-1.392---1.408 currantly running with this setting and ill see what happens tonight when i prime it.

yes its an old swiftech storm, 120/2 rad and bayres setup.

it will definatly go higher, but the weather has been very warm so ill leave it at that for the moment.

thank god. another cpu capable of those temps on air (like Pneumonic's) would be very upsetting. :)

nice results though.

nice oc bru. like you i have a 1.2750 vid q6600. currently running at 3.0ghz on stock vcore on an asus p5q deluxe. if i can get 3.6 out of it ill be as happy as larry

just you wait till I have my new fans :p

Edit: Nice clock btw got some room for more there
you going for another high clocked air rig pneumonic. i remember reading your first thread about sticking a q6600 over 4ghz on air. which i didnt think was possible. with my e6600 i got as far as 3.7ghz on air (not orthos stable) 3dmark ok but me graphics card cooling let me down (14997) in 3dm06. look forward to seeing how you do:)

well not on my current board as it gives out at the 4.023ghz clock but I have some plans and a new rig currently being built got a thread about it on here if your interested, here.

@ the OP I am guessing that you can probably get 3.75ghz out of that for 1.45vcore @ load in windows :) as long as the temps hold ok
