Hey all,

I have some cash to spend :p
And I was wondering what to spend it on...
My current specs are in my signature, what would you recommend me upgrading next? Or maybe I should upgrade external parts? I.e. Speaker, mouse, keyboard etc. ?

Thanks,

Marky

Dont really think there is anything internal to upgrade, but you could get a good sound system if you dont have one.

Replace the PSU just for peice of mind :)

I was wondering how long it would take someone to suggest that! :p

Have you thought about getting a back-up drive? bit boring and sensible i know, but you never know...

PK!

I may get a new PSU because it's started to make a ticking sound - and it's quite loud... I normally put a piece of paper between the fan and the fan cover and it would only tick a little, but I just this second took it apart and it's ticking quite bad now :p

Which would you recommend?

Really I want a PSU that I won't have to upgrade for quite a while. I brought the Type-R PSU thinking it looked and performed well, but it seems many people (Including myself) have problems with them...
If the Corsair is going to last me a long time, I probably won't mind spending a tad more for a bit more quality...

Is it very quiet? Easy to install? Anyone have one that can share their experience?

Go Corsair 620, then get a better CPU cooler (TT, Ultra-120 Ex) so you can clock that 6600 higher!

Heh after the problems I had installing my Arctic Cooler Pro 7 - I won't be changing for a little while to come :p

I figured I'll go for the Corsair 620 :) Thanks for the help... However *DUM DUM DUUUUM* That's right... I also figured since delivery is going to cost me almost £9 for one PSU, I might as well get a new mouse and keyboard whilst I'm at it :p

Anyone have any recommendation for a Cheapish keyboard and mouse? Preferably need them both wired since I had a bad experience with wireless due to the amount of games (FPS especially) that I play and it not picking up the pressed keys etc. And also preferablly a mouse without... any ball :p

Thanks,

Marky

I think that there is general agreement that particularly if it is making those alarming noises, the PSU has to be changed. The Corsair units seem to offer the best value/power/reliability/noise mix at present.

If you have more money to spend after that, you may get a couple of degrees extra cooling from a TT, but the AC7 you already have is outstanding value for the money you paid for it.

You can never have too much HDD space, but I think that too many people neglect the mouse and keyboard. These are, after all, the physical interface between you and the rest of the kit, and having good quality makes using it so much more pleasureable.

If your mouse is getting a bit tired, how about this - the latest version of an absolute classic - your gaming performance may improve as well!
