Well i have as many a 4ghz bundle on the ud5 the problem seems to be getting my memory to run at the correct speed, here is what cpuz reports-

dram freq= 573.0mhz
fsb ratio=2:6
timings of 9,9,9,28,64,2T

The ram is reported as part number CM3X2G1600C9, so it is definatly the ram advertised and capable of 1600mhz!

I havnt personally overclocked since q6600 and dont want to have to learn i7 hence buying the bundle! If you keepers of the i7 wisdom can help i would be one happy guy!:)

Actually no im not now. Just been told to up the multiplier to x8 but this is causing issues with media playback so had to roll back to x6. Can anyone help me set this damn thing up right plz? Bloody annoyed tbh to pay a premium for a OC bundle that isnt even set up right.Normally i allways trust and recommend ocuk but this time is epiic fail imo.

What is your bclk and cpu multiplier?
Also, if you set the ram multiplier to auto what MHz does it give you?

In that case I'm not sure what the issue is? As the RAM multiplier is a direct multiple of the bclk. The only way you'll get your RAM to get to 1600MHz is my having a bclk divisible by 6/8/10 etc.
If you wish to keep the i7 at 4GHz and want the RAM @1600MHz, try for 200x20 (turbo boost off) and set the ram multiplier at 8x. I would also advice manually entering the CL9 settings into the BIOS as they may be set to Auto which may give higher timings.
If it doesn't seem stable at the above settings, ensure the VRAM is 1.6/1.65. Then try adding slightly to the QPI/VVT, 1.40 should defiantly be enough. Then the only issue is finding the correct vCore.

Thanks higadeb :) Thats all i was looking for was a simple explanation as to how and why it was like it is,seems i couldnt get this through customer service channels :(.
Have many peeps had success with the 200x20 settings for 4ghz or should i be just happy with how it is? Will the jump to 1600mhz ram speed have significant effect to be worth the effort getting stable again?
Maybe its just me but its bloody niggling away knowing its not going at the full speed! :D

The differnce wont be huge but min FPS will be helped a bit.

Lots of i7 1366 socket users run base clocks at or around 200mhz.
