My Old System Stopped Booting :(

Hi guys

I'm not sure if I posted this in the right forum so if not I'm sorry.

Ok so in 2008 (I didn't realise it was that long ago!!) I bought a desktop pc from OC. I loved it, it played all my games with no problems for years. Then a few months back now just one day I turned it on and it said failed to boot. Now when I try it turns on but nothing comes on the monitor (that stays in stand by mode). I've tested the monitor and it works fine.

This is what I bought

"Ultima OC 9800GT" Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz @ QX6950+ 3.00GHz+ Quad Core DDR2 System
Antec 900 Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP1 32-Bit - OEM (N09-02215)
OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (OCZ2P800R22GK)

Now I know it's old but it did all I needed it to, so what I am asking is. Is it worth getting it fixed? (I don't even know what's wrong with it) if so is anyone able to help me find a recommended repairer in or around where I live (Essex//Thurrock)

If it's not worth getting fixed then is anything salvageable towards a new rig?

I currently have a MSi gaming laptop I bought from here too so I'm still able to game at the moment but I miss my desktop and 37" wide screen monitor and gaming keyboard etc.

This is effectively what rig I used to have, the Q6600 and a similar, but worse, GFX card. Do you have a spare GFX card lieing around that you could test with? Your GFX card is probably the thing at fault, seeing as it's the displays problem, though it may well be something else :)

It started to boot at 1st. Then said failed to boot on screen when it 1st happened. I'm useless at these things so not sure how to diagnose it properly.

That's why I'd love to know someone who could whom lives near me.
