My Operating System...

Hey, so in December i built an i7 rig, ive been away from the forum for a long time using it generally and seeing how its been going.

My main problem is with my operating system, im sure this will be easily answered. I am running windows 7 RC1 is this going to handicap my pc in speed atall, I started with Vista (SP1 ?) and it seemed ok but not amazingly different to my old single core AMD PC in speed, windows 7 seems little different to vista. So my point is whats THE best operating system choice etc tog et the most from my pc, and could anything be handi capping it as it feels like for £1200 it should be better.

yeah i only have 3 gig ram so im guessing 64bit is pointless.

Ill prob reformat and try again, probably have to many processes running as im not expert on keeping all of them down and have all these random ones running. Windows 7 it is then i guess? I just want raw speed i havent had any craches from Win 7 yet in 2 months of use.

ok ill reformat windows 7 64 bit is there any big issues with programmes and drivers?

I have adaware, AVG, these are the only two big programmes that run all the time.

yeah i knew this but things like AVG and Adaware seemed essentials to me, otherwise i cut down everything else, themes, windows sidebar, startup programmes etc.
