I'm having a little mess with overclocking my E8200 on an Asus P5K3 Deluxe mobo. In the BIOS I've set the FSB to 400mhz and the CPU Ratio to 8.0. This should give me 3.2Ghz. However, CPU-Z is reporting the multiplier as flitting backwards and forwards between 6 and 8, making the clock speed change contantly from 2.4ghz to 3.2ghz. Since I manually entered a CPU ratio of 8 in the BIOS, the option to turn Intel Speedstep on or off is disabled by defaul, so I assume that it is automatically switched off.
So how do I get it to stay as 8 instead of jumping up and down between 6 and 8?
Thanks,
Michael.
