I bought a pre-overclocked computer from overclockers thats been working great for 2 years. I've just recently noticed that its dropped from 3.8 to 2.8. It probably returned to default because of a bluescreen or when i was changing the RAM or something.

Can you guys assist me in overclocking it back to its original?

Its a i5 760 2.80GHz @ 3.80GHz Quad core DD3 system

Look in the BIOS and you should hopefully find a profile stored there that you can just load up.

If you've changed the RAM then you may need to adjust the BIOS settings.

If you keep getting crashes then something isn't right but it may be related to the RAM settings I've mentioned above.

I think changing the ram resets it as far as I'm aware. I'm very terrible at overclocking, but you could ask in the 8pack section for help.

It might be worth calling overclockers to ask for what settings it had before and just popping those in since it has been stable for 2 years.

Darn, i upgraded from 4GB ram to 8GB, must have been that.

Do you have any ideas on what kind of BIOs settings i need. I know how to get into the BIOs, but nothing else.

As surveyor said, it may be that there is a saved profile for the overclock. If you have a look around the BIOS to see if there's anything that jumps out such as, "PROFILE OVERCLOCKERS" select that :p

I would still give them a call and ask them to guide you through it to locate the profile. Failing that they may be able to give you the exact settings they would have used.

But since i changed the RAM, wont that effect any of the previous settings? Or doesnt RAM effect CPU overclocking.

Hey guys, i got this reply from overclockers

"Dear James,

Unfortunately we are unable to provide support for your overclock if the original hardware has changed.

However , there should be a profile saved inside the bios with our original settings saved, if you re-load this you will need to change up the DRAM voltage a bit and slacken the timings to the new memory spec.

Regards,

Dan Smith"

Do you guys have any ideas on what my DRAM voltage should be now? I upgraded from 4GB ram to 8GB
