My overclocking thread

Hello all, I need some help with overclocking my Pentium 4 on my eVGA 680i. Im curious to see what I can get from this chip.

(pentium 4 651 65nm 2mb cache lga775 3.4ghz stock)

Nice overclock there, But is it stable? I mean ran Orthos for 8+?

Are there any settings that I need to change from what you can see?

Also is the Voltage to high?
Is my Score In 3dmark06 around what you would expect?

Currently @ 1.46250v for cpu. Is this safe.

What is the spread spectrum and the Ht multiplier.

So many questions

You could push around 5Volts , There older chips, But be really carefull

5VOLTS!

My motherboard only goes up to 1.8v. Do you mean 1.5v?

Had a look at speedfan. Temp is 38oc @ 4402mhz

ahaha nice overclock can i ask why you have a good kit apart from your CPU? on the 22nd buy a quad core! it will go so nice with that system!

Speedfan isnt a good program , Most of the time it diplays the wrong temps. 38Degrees on a 1000Mhz overclock must be wrong.

be back in 5mins. Trying to overclock further. Will put cpu voltage up 1.5v and try for 4.6ghz..

Hopefully i will be back.

Had a look @ the onboard temp sensors in the bios. It says it is 38oc.

Please bear in mind that this is cooled on a Zalman 9700 Aero CPU cooler on Max Fan Speed. It aint quiet

I think my chip has crapped out on me. Cant get me 4.6Ghz.

Got my Ram to 600Mhz @ 5-5-5-15

Look. 4.5Ghz is a VERY good overclock. You should be happy with what you've achieved. Take your time with this , Try pushing the ram more up? can you get 5-6-5-16?
