My P5B again

I recently posted about a problem with the onboard sound on the P5B-deluxe, a day after my post the problem seemed to fix itself, again last night it happened again. The only same thing that happened when the sound was crackling was it had prevously been thundering. Now I always turn my PC off but back on again when I can only see the lightening in they very far distance. Again this morning my sound was fine again. Is it possible in anyway this could be related to my problem.

Been having the same problems with p5n32 and soundmax...dont think it was the storm messin things up, i have the crackling noise also, i have tries new and orginal drivers, changed settings till im blue in the face, nothing seems to cure it.

Soundmax say this is due to a bug on some computers, big help there then. Cant find an answer online either, tho quite a few people have the same problem. Thing that gets me is i run Dual boot (xp,vista) and on Vista the sound is perfect, i would really appreciate if someone could steer me in the right direction as to what could be causing this...
