My passive cooling for folding/DC

Time to show off my ghetto DIY skills!

My 1080 rad arrived yesterday so today I built a stand for it.

May I introduce to you the dekez 1080 radiator stand mk1:

Features include padded pads to prevent radiator and floor damage, and the option to mount 2 140mm fans to run semi passive if required, and if I want balls-out mental cooling I can add 9 fans to the rad as well

Here it is in action:

I've now got it sat out of sight under my desk running passively, after crunching on a Q6600 and folding on a 260 for an hour, temps are 72 for cpu and 60 for gpu. Depending on how much higher they go I may add a 140mm fan, but if they stay under 80 I'll leave it passive.

Yeah I probably will end up getting a couple of fans on there, it would definitely need it in summer anyway, need to order some fan extension cables.

I'm not going to paint it as my desk is in an alcove under the stairs and goes back a long way so you can't see it at all, which is why I didn't put too much effort into how it looks!

Was that with or without fans? I've just tried it vertically and the temps started to increase by a few degrees, 76 / 62.

I positioned it horizontally with the theory that if the hot air rises off the rad then the fins are correctly aligned to help a current moving through from underneath the rad upwards which would help cooling.
