Hi. I installed a sandisk 120gb extreme a couple of days ago and now my bios seems to hang for 15 seconds and windows doesnt load sometimes (3/10). The ssd light just blinks in a fault mode type sequence?

I also think crossfire isn't working properly too(may be related?), fur mark shows 1 card working and that only runs at 50 ish percent. Crossfire is enabled. Crossfire works in the witcher 2 but both are at around 45% usage.

I've reinstalled windows in ACHI mode 2 times now and still the same problem. No overclock.

Specs are;

M4a89 gtd pro latest bios
8gb corsair vengence
6870 crossfire standard
antec truepower 650w (a bit weak?)
Amd 1090t hexcore

Could anyone help me? Thanks

Unplug all other HD's leave one graphics card in remove ram an place 1 back in, fire up an see if theres still problems.
If there isn't any then your rig is under powered for your set up, if there is still problems post results so we can figure out if its PSU or SSD but i'd say the PSU isn't strong enough to run all the hardware.
Most comments an sites ive seen recommend at least 700-750 PSU for cross fire or sli.

Thanks for the replies.

It's the only drive in the pc. The pc is around 1.5 years old and has been running crossfire for almost a year, so I guess it's been stressed quite a bit then! That'll teach me to be a cheapskate.:o

Anyway I've just tried to install windows 7 on a new ssd and it was fine until I updated windows, Maybe psu doesn't work well when warm?

Now am following advice from you guys and took out both graphic cards and 1 stick. I tried to turn the pc on and I get the same fault with the ssd light blinking and it fails to boot to windows. I do have a spare psu that will run the pc without the graphics cards, so gunna give that a go. I'll let you know what happens. Cheers

Right..... Checked it with a different PSU and I still had the same problem. So I decided to have a quick look in the bios.... Yep everything was good. Then I had an idea to change the ssd mode to ide and now it works like a charm every time i start the PC. But obviously I dont want in ide mode as its slower. :(

So maybe my motherboard cant use ahci mode that well, but why? It's got the latest bios etc. Any ideas? cheers Andy

O.K. A bit embarrassing....
I went to the AMD site for the chipset drivers instead of the Asus site and it now works perfectly. Hate it when that happens and I try everything else and it's the most simple thing that sorts the problem. LOL:eek:
