Hi i bought all my components from this Over clockers so i thought i would come here now it dose not work.

so i was playing Dark souls and all of a sudden the game froze my screen had loads of horizontal yellow lines going up the screen. so i turned my pc off as it was not doing anything.

i started it up and see if anything obvious was wrong the cables and such nothing seemed out of place.

my PC has worked picture perfect all year until today. i had the same issue happen twice since and this was when i was playing CS:GO so i guess its nothing to do graphical strain or anything like that it just cut out after 20 mins of play and with no cause there was no flash bangs i was just walking around .

How is your Temps doing??
Have a look in event viewer under system

Click start, right click computer and click manage. Now click arrow on event viewer and same again on windows logs now click on system.

Look for event called Display if they is one does it say "display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

If so you might need to adjust the voltage a tiny touch.

Driver removal would be first thing I would do.
Enter Control panel and and uninstall current driver now Restart
Download and install Driver Fusion and scan AMD Display and remove all and restart again
Screen should now be in Standard VGA mode "massive icons"
Install new driver and restart once more.

there is no event called display but there are criticals at the times it crashed im running ps2(planetside 2) on ultra and its working fine atm but i have changed my moniter to a samsung tv monitor

Your graphics cards RAM has died, that is what all the strange lines on the screen are.

Your only option is to RMA it.

hello Flinco thanks for joining in now what is RMA and how do i do it and wouldn't this mean i couldn't play a game at all?
also how do i prevent it happening again?

The VRAM could be the cause of the screen corruption you've seen, it may be driver issues.

If you were to test the gpu in another machine, you might be able to rule out the rest of your system as the problem if the same problematic symptoms occur on that machine.

The RMA involves sending the gpu back to the retailer (possibly manufacturer) where purchased as faulty. They will test it to determine if its faulty. Then you would get a replacement gpu of the same or similar model, or possibly a full or partial refund.

i thought i wouldn't be able to play 30 seconds of a game if that was the case but what do i know.
thanks i bought it from ocuk back in December though but i will see about testing/ sending back
