Hi just started playing lost planet Extreme.

as I start the game it says my settings are to high. I thought my system would Own it easy !

E6400 @ 3.3GHz

8800 GTS 640MB overclocked to GTX

2GB Ram

Do Dx10 games bring most powerful PC`s to there knees ?

leave everything on high but drop shadows down to medium and it'll run great, shame the game is so poor.

There, I fixed your question for you. And yes, they do.

No such thing as a GTS overclocked to GTX I'm afraid, as the clock speeds and memory size aren't the only differences...

But basically, yeah, it is normal - your PC is too slow to run it (smoothly) maxed out.

I got a message saying my pc wasnt up to plying it maxed out in vista too. I cant belive that as I have a E6600 / 8800GTX and 4 gig of ram!

Trying to play @ 1680 x 1050

WTF?

The games poorly optimised thats why i think, wait untill something like crysis to come out as its meant to be optimised etc.

There is no way to "overclock a GTS to a GTX". The GTX has 50% more pixel pipelines, as well as more video memory.

In regards to the lost planet demo - yep, pretty much standard. Largely un-optimised DX10 code and drives I'm afraid.
