ok, transferring my components out of my old case to a nice new one, i now can't get the PC to start :( Damn job has taken hours..

Basically, i can see the motherboard light is on when i turn the PSU on, but when i go to start the PC nothing happens except a very brief flicker of light from the from case LED which lasts about 0.5 seconds. Note that if i try to turn it on again i don't get the flicker of light but if i turn the PSU off, wait for the motherboard LED light to go off, then turn the PSU back on and attempt to start PC again, i do get the flicker of light.

I'm thinking the problem is either the PSU (but haven't seen any sign of it being frazzled), the mobo (really hope not), or i have got the jumper pin things the wrong way round (which i don't think i have). I could be wrong though, i don't mess about with PC components often.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

Did u put the motherboard stands in the case befor the motherboard?

Yes, i think. I put the stays in before fasting mobo to case.

And did u attach all the power connectors

Think so, mobo seems to want two power cables (a longish thin one, which is actually in two - one small part and longer part), and a lego brick type one.

Curious though, i seem to have another connector which looks like again a bit like a lego brick, 2*2 square looking so smaller than the one above. This doesn't seem to go anywhere.

^ if any of that makes sense!!

Lego brick 3*2 usually goes in the graphics card, usually you need two of these for modern graphics cards. Go through your motherboard manual and make sure all the power connectors are plugged in correctly. What motherboard/graphics card/cpu and power supply unit do you have?
