OK, Ive had this problem for a few months now and its got me baffled...

If I fully shut the PC down, the vast majority of the time it will not open up, no post, nothing, the monitor will burst in to life as soon as the power on signal is detected, but within seconds it goes back into sleep mode (its connected via DP)

Occasionally it will open up as normal and run as thought theres no problem

Also, sometimes, when I turn on the PC, nothing whatsoever happens, but then a minute or 2 later, it will suddenly spring into life.

I now put the PC to sleep, or leave it switched on and I don't get the problem.

Anyone know what the problem could be??

My crystal ball also fails to boot when trying to ask it what parts you have there...

But as quick guess would expect to find something equipped with cheap capacitors.

I7 4790k cpu
GTX 980 gpu
Maximus VII Hero m/b
2x4gb DDR3
Dell Ultrawide monitor

And what about PSU or was it just some cheap enough without name?

BIOS/RTC battery would be at least cheap thing to try.
You never know if it was even originally good.
