So I figured that my Core 2 Duo pc has done me proud and hence I decided (foolishly since i have uni coming up :D).

I have plonked down the following:

Core i7 920 D0 retail (cost £200)
Asus Rampage eXtreme II (cost £175)
6Gb (3x2Gb) 1600Mhz Corsair (cost £75)
ATi 1Gb 4890 (I was tempted to go 3D with the new monitor, but I got a cracking deal on a 2407wfp, so I went with the ATi card). (Cost £135)
Corsair HX 750w PSU (Cost £113)
Antec P182 special edition (I found this at a car boot sale. Seems nice, but bloody heavy). (Cost £65)

I have had to purchase a bracket for my Ultra 120 CPU cooler >_> (PITA since I forgot to get it on my main order).

Any thing you would have changed?

Please rate my rig out of 10 for the purpose of gaming at 1920x1200.

I do not intend for the pc to last me forever (the bulk of the PC has to last me a year, and the graphics card til the new ones come out :D).

I game on that same rig pretty much at 1920x1200, granted i have 2 gpus but everything runs smooth.

What OS will you be using? I am having some issues on Arma 2 vista x64.

Which 4890s are you buying? Mine clocked to 925 / 4400 out of the box (Asus ones on OCUK)

Hi kenmare :)

Those are good specs and you'll be fine running most games at 1920x1200. What games do you intend on playing?

As rexehuk asked, what OS are you going to be running - because you will need to go for a 64-bit to utilise that 6GB RAM.

Plus, I've been hearing from a fair few people about this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-008-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389 RAM. It's cheaper and apparently pretty good.

The one I'm intending to build my system with would either be http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-162-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389 (slightly more expensive but is good RAM) or http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr3_pc3_12800_intel-i7_triple_channel (which unfortunately not stocked at OCUK).
