My PC's stopped working? Advice Please?

Hello all,

Been a while since I had to tinker with a computer so thought I'd post here for some advice!

I have a..
asus a8v deluxe mobo,
AMD 3500XP 64
Radeon X800 graphics
2 x 1GB corsair ram
wz cool 400W CPU

OK so issues...


When I press the power button... Sometimes it starts othertimes nothing happens.

When it does start I get nothing on screen at all.

How I can figure out what is wrong? I don't have that many spare components to swap in and out.

I tried removing everythng except POWER + MOBO + RAM + GRAPHICS hoping to at least hear some beeping but nothing. Tried MOBO + POWER + GRAPHICS and still nothing.

Should something at least come up on screen if no CPU present?

Any ideas?

sounds like a gfx card failure does your mobo light still come on when the PC is plugged in the power but not switched on?

Mobo light does indeed come on, with power connected, but not powered on.

Let me hunt for a spare graphics card....

Swapped it out with a graphics card from a working machine. Still no joy.

Maybe the mobo is dead?
