my phenom 965 c3 clocking

some people wanted prove of a phenom II clocked pass 3.6ghz+ to be prime95 stable.

so heres a 7 hours 3 minutes prime95 test on blend at 3.8ghz...

edit: please don't ask to do one for longer because the answer will be no, :p. it was bad enough only being able to browse the internet and waiting for 7 hours.

Nice clocks here Gareth. How long do you think it's taken you?

If the stock voltage (amd call this vid?) varies so much and is somewhat unrelated to overclock, does overclock on "stock volts" mean much? Just musing.

It irritates the hell out of me when people run systems which they know won't pass stabilty testing. So here's a rant, clearly aimed at Martini.

That a computer hasn't bluescreened/frozen/otherwise crashed doesn't mean it's running correctly. It only means it's stable enough to not **** up an operation badly enough to crash the system. It can still make minor errors which don't do any obvious harm, until such point as it corrupts something you care about. If it's failing testing then the odds of it making small mistakes you don't immediately notice are much higher than if it is passing.

If your system can't run ibt indefinitely it is not stable. If it runs prime95, ibt, f@h and everything else you ever ask it to, then believe it's stable but be prepared to revaluate this if something goes wrong.

That's brilliant I think. Can't estimate how long I've spent on mine, but I have a suspicion I started last Autumn and I'm far from finished.

Happy with 3.9 or hoping to take it higher?

Owned.
But I still run at 3.9GHZ, I can get it IBT stable on 1.375V, you however, don't bother to read.

Would you recommend that over the Corsair H50? I was really tempted with Corsair but if the Thermalright Ultra-120A is better then I will get that.

Corsair H50 is better but i will never use a watercooling because if it leaks it'll kill the system..

if u don't mind using a watercooler then go for it.

That has crossed my mind.
I just started a new thread because I would have thought if that did happen then Corsair would be responsible for the damage caused.
I cant find anything on their site though.

Corsair as got abit strong on that now

u will need to prove that it wasn't a user error and even then Corsair could still say no.

I will have to have a think about this then. The room that the computer is in has no heating (dont ask!) so it is always very cold, it got down to 9C in there last night. With the stock cooler and running prime the max temp was 46C:)

I bother to write a piece, primarily for your benefit, explaining that passing one stability test does not mean your system is running correctly. It means it's running better than if it failed, that's all.

You reply with a link to a different thread where you show yourself passing a small number of loops of ibt, tell me I don't read anything, and state owned.

You're evidently quite stupid, so I shall spare myself the bother of reading anything else you write. Best of luck in your gamble against data corruption.

JonJ :)

well people will live and learn when their 'unstable' system corrupts their O/S, or buggers something critical..

Yes spending a couple of weeks ensuring your setup is 'stable' is a little boring.. but its certainly worth it

I'm not running at 4GHZ, I'm running at 3.9GHZ, where i've done more than 10 loops.
I don't need your "expert advise"...
I just don't see the need to justify myself to you or anyone else.
