my phenom940 benchies

Mine arrived this morning, got it installed. Vista 64 booted no problem, and proceeded to install a slew of new hardware and without any intervention from myself the CPU is working just fine. I had a 3500+ in before.

Everest reports that it's idling at 28. It's at stock at the moment, on water.

Time to get my head around overclocking K10. :)

Your HDD is running at 10c  Where are you in the Arctic :p Are you sure Everest is reading all the temps correct? Can you try some other temperature programs?

Looks like good clocks so far just using the multi, now gets some benchmarks programs running :) And you need to use 4 Orthros programs running as its quad core not dual.

fothsn - i have a antec 900 case so the drive is right in front of a huge fan :-)
I have check with few other programs there correct matey! :-D

The Halk - mines cooler then that on air :-P

Frank_Rizzo - ill run super PI tonite for ya! i finish work at 530pm so will be home about 6ish!

Firegod - sorry mate.... i have the beta of orthos? which has dual core support... so using the Affinity setting in task manager i can tell which orthos to work on whcih cores... if u look at the useage all 4 cores r getting stressed 100% so i only need to run two :-)

Great :D Maybe try speedfan and double check in the bios it should have a temperature monitoring section.

Happy days. Cheers for the reply! :D

This is looking very promising so far!

It would be nice to see you increasing the bus speed as well rather than just upping the multiplier as the performance is supposed to scale better that way because the ht link gets a boost as well.

u mean 3.84ghz?

haha i do mean that yes! thx mate!

in the process of doing that now matey!

more soon!

Load is what matters! Mine was running stock, but at 1.5V since I was about to start clocking down. Thankfully my BIOS voltage settings carry through and for RAM too. The naughty board set the RAM to 1.8V at 1066, despite the correct voltage being in the extended SPD.

Currently mine is running at 1600mhz with an HT link of 200 and a NB frequency of 800, 200mhs dram.

It's time to see how high the bus speed can go.

This is the boring bit of overclocking, finding out all the limits :/ Not to mention there's more stuff than there used to be. Bring back the days of multiplier and FSB!

It's to do with the architecture of the chip, it's something to do with cache latencies. SuperPi is only really a worthwile test between chips of the same architecture. Between 2 i7s or between 2 Phenoms etc.

My bus speed hit 300 with no issues at all. I was expecting to hit a wall and get an indication of what the bus speed would go at when I had a normal clock on the HTT and processor. Sadly it seems that I won't be able to find out limits one knob at a time. Either that or it's happy to run at 300, which I don't think is the case.
