You are right, but I'm not entirely sure how else to word it.

I really need to remove the '6 of which have been commercially', but I'd need to replace it with something.

I do a bit of Freelance, but I have a 9-5 job doing it as well.

Some places (wrongly, IMO) like to see a degree, however when we were looking most of the people with degrees were numpties, most probably because they spent the last three years of their life doing everything in theory and not actually gaining real experience.

Those that are self taught and have the experience tend to be the better ones from my experience (bias aside :D).
 
Yes, there is always an exception to the rule and if you have the common sense and experience to accompany your degree, you should do well.
