Hi everyone, I'm about to embark on my second self-build but this time want to go all out (within budget) and over-clock as well. I've got a list of what I think seems good but hope somebody might be able to improve on it or get the price down about if some things aren't necessary. I want a system that will play the latest games out like bf4, etc and that will display ok when I have it on a 42inch tv. (this is not essential though) Budget anywhere between £700-£900.

The Phantom case is a must because I love it and so is having a ssd. I've been told I can over-clock this pretty easy to about 4.2ghz. I don't need any additional storage has I have plenty of sata drives. Another question is will the cooler fit OK in the case as it looks pretty chunky. No O/S needed.

Looking forward to hear you ideas.

Regards Dean.

The CPU you've chosen is last-gen - there's no particular reason not to go for Haswell.

I'm over budget here, but you've got a 280X, a gold-rated PSU, and the updated version of the Phantom case. If you need it back below £900, I'd get a 120GB SSD for now and add another later. That's what I did with my build.
