Ok so here is the background first. About a year ago I was sitting AS level exams in physics, maths and ICT, to put it bluntly I did VERY badly in all subjects, didnt try with them and it showed, I left school and started to do more hours at work (Supermarket), anyway, before I knew it I had been dragged in and I was contracted for full time hours which has been the case now for 4 months or so.

I didnt want to get stuck in a rut and spend the rest of my life stuck in morrisons getting treated poorly, paid poorly and worked to the ground. So I got my ass into another gear and started to look around, well basically I noticed an ad in the local paper for an electrical apprentice to join at Pirelli Tyres UK which have a base in town, this was perfect for me! Interesting, local and above all, a proper career!

Three weeks after sending off my CV I got a letter in the post inviting me down to take an aptitude test, in total 76 people went for this position so it was a while again before they could mark all the papers and get back to us all to tell us how we got on. Last week I received a phone call from the personell manager telling me I was successful in getting to the next stage, a formal interview. That interview was this morning!

I didnt have time to get nervous about it because I was at work first thing this morning anyway, they told me that only 7 out of the 76 who took the aptitude test got to this second stage anyway so I did really well to get this far! I was sat down, I had 2 people infront of me, the personell manager and the manager of al the technical side of things, they asked me a bit about my past etc to get a picture of what sort of person I did, i made a few stutters when the nerves were kicking in but I think I stayed pretty calm, I showed them praise letters i got from school and work which I think impressed them :p I was then just asked a load of questions about myself, what i want from life etc and I think it went extremely well.

Fingers crossed now I will hear something back from them in the near future with either a yes or a no, or if they cant settle on one person then I could be called back for a second interview to finally decide who they want.

Just thought i would share this with you all, I will keep you posted on my progess, I hope I did good enough today :)
