Hey guys I've got a nice noobie question for you guys! :D

My specs:

Graphics card: ASUS EAH4870 1GB
Motherboard: ASUS P5QL-E (P43 chipset)
Memory: Kingston 4 GB ( 2 x 2 GB ) PC6400 800 MHz
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 / 3 GHz
HDDs: 1x old 40GB 5400rpm IDE & 1x 7200RPM 150GB
USB: MX518 & Sennheiser headset

I have no idea what influences the size of the power consumption so I just put all the specs I think are needed :p

I was thinking of buying the: CoolerMaster Real Power M520 Modular PSU
It has 3x 12V lines with 19A each.

Thanks for your helps!

ps. Does that motherboard fit into the system? :P

I think it is ample. Ive read that a PC with only one cpu, GPU and HDD would use no where near 400 real watts. Its only when you start racking up multiple HDD's, sli/xfire and OC'ing quads you will need to worry about obscene wattage power supplies. Manufacturers just love to bump up the wattage to make you buy new units. (Bigger is better mentality)What else can they realistically do to make you buy new ones? All just IMO of course.

My setup
E8400 @ 3.8ghz
2 x Igb Patriot Extreme Performance
1 x XFX 8800GTS 320mb
2 x optical drives
1 x IDE HDD
1 x Sata HDD
1 x P5Q-VM

Maximum power draw is 310w, given that efficiency runs at about 80-85% with decent PSU's and allowing for 10% degradation with time then for my system 450W would be ample (I have a 550W) when I was using the onboard VGA I was using an X-pro 400W and only changed it because of the lack of PCI-E conns.
Your rig isn't so different so would be broadly the same

BTW, one interesting thing about the P5Q board is that it's system temp sensor is on the top right corner of the board so everyone who buys the PSU's with the quieter, more efficient 120mm fan drawing from beneath always reports high system temps (the sensor sits in dead air behind the optical drives) whilst people who go for the noisier twin 80mm ones drawing front to rear don't see these perceived high temps.
