Hi guys,

I was just about to start looking at overclocking my Q6600 and was familiarising myself with some of the applications you guys use to overclock and I notice that CoreTemp is showing my frequency as 1600 (266.67 x 6.0)

I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L and I have switched off what i thought was the right setting in the bios to stop this from happening but it still persists. I'm using Vista x64

any ideas?

Thanks for the help guys.

I only want to go upto 3ghz really so would I still need to set the VCORE to 1.45?

My cooling should be able to cope so i;ve been told by a member on here when i bought the cooler.

Also, my leadtek card has overclocking software for XP. Is there any way to overclock my card in Vista?

Will I need to down the memory settings to cope with the upped FSB? I'm still learning about this clocking business and finding it quite confusing :)

And how much does clocking decrease the life of a processor?
