So i did my first build back in january and i intended to do a build log but instead i couldnt wait so i threw it all together and started gaming.
Since then there has been many changes
so i'll starts from the begining.
Most of the parts arrived and i spent a few hours trying to get the cable management how i wanted it. (I tried to hide it with cardboard
)
After Recieving the final part which was the 5850 from OcUK
i got it up and running perfect. I did intend to use a H50 but it got Disconinued apparently so i had to cancel
I was getting ever more currious about all the hype with Watercooling so i just had to try it.
My Watercooling days ended all to quickly as i knocked a fitting on the GPU block which wasnt secured properly and it leaked on my beloved 5850 which died for a whole week but then was brought back to life by a simple clr CMOS switch
After selling all my watercooling kit and loosing over £300 i had an itch that needed scratching - Crossfire. And more cooling with Air.
I picked up that sweet 5870 from a friend for cheap
But after Under performing i decided to replace the 5850......
With another 5870
And with the adition of a new motherboard and Case i had at last i had found the perfect set up for me... For now
But this FERMI card everyone spoke so much about was released and i managed to fight the temptation off for Quite some time but decided to go for it in June.
If Only they all worked together
Youll notice the H50 in there lol
I also tried 3D vision which made my head go crazy with headaches.
So now i have decided to do a few changes and finally do a proper build log.
Ill start with Hardware Specifications.
CPU: Core i5 750
Motherboard: Asus Maximus III Extreme
Memory: Corsair XMS3 Dual Channel 1600Mhz
Graphics card: Sapphire 5970
PSU: Corsair HX1000W
Cooler: H50 push/pull with two sythe kraze 3k (fan controlled)
Main HDD: 150GB Velociraptor
Storage Drives: 2x 500gb WD caviar black
Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster P2450H
You'll notice that the PSU is missing, thats for a reason.
Got some sleeving from MDPC-x (this stuff is great quality sleeving)
So after failing a few atempts at single sleeving I gave up and lost my patience. I managed to get a guy from another Community to help me out. So I sent it to Oliverw92 who is doing a great job.
Here's a picture he updated me with.
That's as far as I've got with it for now and I'll post some updates soon..
