My Rift seems blurry

I've only had my Rift around a month and i remember when I first put it on I was blown away with it.

Now it seems like the colours/sharpness aren't what they were. Its almost like the lenses maybe slightly dirty on the inside but I know that shouldn't be possible.

I read about the Nvidia output dynamic range bug mine was set to limited. I switched it to full but didn't notice a difference. I then used a DP to HDMI adaptor which believe does away with this issue altogether again no difference.

Just wondered if i should try anything else or if i should take a trip to the opticians :)

Thanks
Scott

It's not fogging when you put it on is it? I turn on Oculus Home for about 10 mins before using my rift to ensure the lenses warm up and don't fog.

I've given the lenses a clean with the provided cloth they don't appear to be scratched. It's not a warming up issue I normally let it warm up before using too

Also I didn't adjust the IPD accidentally but I did check the settings and it looks alright.

I'm actually starting to wonder if it's my eyes as I've had a few late nights and early mornings this week.

I get the same feeling sometimes, not sure if it's my imagination or not, but for me a good clean of the lenses usually sorts it out. Not a dry wipe, a decent clean.

What do you use to clean it?

I've made sure not to put it in direct sunlight and have loosened and readjusted the straps already.

Thanks

I just use water with a fine drying cloth. Also, make sure you have the headset on right. Here's Melmac's fitting guide from the Rift thread. I spent first 3 months before I had it fitted properly and it does make a difference:

Here is a quick fitting guide.

Loosen all the straps on the Rift completely.
Put headset on, Make sure the base of the triangle of straps at the back of the headset is nearly touching your neck.
Hold the Face plate so the top of it is just above the eyebrows.
Tighten the Top strap as far as you can so that it's taking the weight of the headset but not moving it upwards on your head.
Now tilt the faceplate(visor) to suit yourself.
Then tighten the side straps, again, not too tight, just firmly enough to hold the headset in place.

The mistake most people make is having the back strap of the headset way too high. It should be as low as possible on the back of your head. This has two advantages, it's more comfortable and the sweet spot is larger when wearing correctly.
