I have been running my machine with a modest overclock of 4.2ghz for months with no issues (see below for specs), my graphics card is a AMD R295X2 and it runs perfect with this card.

The other week I changed this card to try a Nvidia 980 SLI (friends cards) configuration, this is where the issues started, with these cards everytime I booted or restarted it halts and tell me " The system has experienced a boot failure" and gives me the option to load optimised defaults, or enter the bios.

If i enter the bios and reboot it boots fine however next time I restart I get the same message (even if I restart windows), needless to say this put me off the 980 SLI option, I decided to go with the Titan X, it came today and I have exactly the same problem.

I have tried everything I can think of, if I load optimised defaults it is fine however the second I change anything in the bios it fails to boot, again if I enter the bios and reboot its fine (even with the overclocked settings) it is driving me nuts, I have upgraded to the latest bios but it did not meke any difference

With the AMD R295X2 it never once did this, my rig appears to hate Nvidia.

It never crashes in Windows or games, I am stumped

My setup comprises of:
Gigabyte X99M-Gaming 5 Intel X99
Intel 5820K 3.30GHz (Haswell-E)
SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1000W
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C14 2400MHz

Have you done a full and proper uninstall of the AMD drivers before trying the Nv cards?

The problem is when it first boots or I reboot, it is at bios level before it loads Windows.

I get to the Gigabyte screen then it powers itself off then back on again and tells me " The system has experienced a boot failure"

Does not do this with the AMD R295X2 installed and that draws a whole lot more juice, It will boot fine at stock it's when I overclock even slightly it fails to boot with this card.
