Hi all iam having a problem since i last altered my rig Spec in sig and the things i have done is .....

1. watercooled Gpu's
2. Added 120GB SSD
3. ADD 2 more hard drives 1x 1tb + 1x 500gb

At the minute iam running

1x OCZ Vertex 2 120gb (which is split 80/40gb)
1X WD Raptor 74gb
1x Seaget 7200.10 500gb
2X Samsung F1's 1000GB

The Problem

Every now and then my machine will crash in 4 diffrent ways

1. it will respond really slowly then lock up resulting in looping sound then it will just switch off then then restart

2. it will respond really slowly then lock up resulting in looping sound then it will BSOD with the Error Code off Machine Check Exception then ill have to manualy restart

3. it will respond really slowly then lock up resulting in looping sound then it will BSOD a crash dump running then it will restart

4. It will got straight to BSOD with the Error Code off Machine Check Exception then ill have to manualy restart

The Cause?

I think this is due to either the SSD or PSU reasons are...

PSU: When i 1st watercooled my gpus i clocked them at 800 core and computer made a clicking sound a switched straight off and also when i played a very heavy GPU game it would make clicking sounds but not turn off which makes me think there isnt enough power for the PSU but i have round the overclock on the gpus back to 750 core and no more clicking ..

SSD: When it restets either by me after BSOD or by its self teh SSD wont come up in the BIOS and ill have to manually power down wait 5 second turn on then it shows up ...

After Reset

After power down the way it should be ..

Help please guys :(

its a thermaltake toughpower which is built on the same Channel Well unit the corsair HX850 is made with

and i've read its a problem with this SSd and some motherboards so i swapped the SSD from the in build sata ports to the inbuilt marvell controller for 6/gbs but its crashed once but it just hung and no restart

the OCZ tool wont let me update it for soem reason could be on the highest firmware

and also Intel RST says my system doesnt meet minimum spec ???

Help please i really want to fit this as i dont want to have to re format and byuy a new crucial or intel ssd :(

Okay spent al night and still no where ive done the following

reformated the SSD

enabled AHCI on the motherboard

Fresh Install windows 7 ultimate x64

Put latest Intel RST on

thought it was going all well then BANG! BSOD memory dump :(

Any thoughts people ?

Test

Try running with 1 hard drive and see if the problem persist.

If it is ok on this add another and then test again.

If it is ok with less drives I would suspect a PSU issue.

Are you on the latest bios for your motherboard - just in case there has been any bios sata driver changes

OC

I notice your running an Overclocked profile - try going back to stock with everything connected and try to replicate the issue.

Also go back to stock on the GFX cards.

If still having issues try running with one card does the issue reappear??

just updated the marvel controller firmware and now doing the motherboard

and its a small world i am from alvaston lol :D

If OCZ have 1.33 as the current firmware then there must have been something wrong with the later version.
To update the firmware on your vertex 2 you will need to either put the drive in another machine as os drives can't be flashed or boot from a usb stick with a Linux distro on it. achi mode must be selected in bios or it wont work.
hope this helps.
